I bought all my GE appliances when we built our house, they were offered from the builder. I would never buy GE again with all the issues I have had with them except the dryer. Fridge, Dish Washer, double oven, microwave and washing machine were all purchased at the same time. I got rid of the fridge because it was too small. This washing machine, the start button has worked properly for a couple years, it failed after the warranty. You have to keep pushing it and eventually it will start.

Not a great Washer.

Had all new GE appliances when I bought my house. These things are not good! The Start button on the Washer stopped working after it was out of warranty. Does not wash clothes very well, the soap and the fabric softener automatic dispensers stopped working after a few months.

Broken after 4 years of normal use

We had a technician come out and to fix this washer will be $1200. That is unacceptable as we have had this washer for just 4 years and have not misused it in any way. The ™€œ10 year warranty™€ covers the basket only. Not any of the parts that actually break down. Will not be buying this brand ever again.

Not happy with soap dispenser and sometimes cloths are not fully washed. Worked great for first year. But after setting for a few months...it started acting up. Following year even worse. This is in our 2 nd home. Softener dispenser lid paint flaked off and there are no warranty or parts to replace it. I Only used DOWNY and Tide HE.

I DO NOT recommend this washer and dryer! I have had issues with this machine since day one! I have put 5 drain hoses on this washer (flooding my storage room every time!) the detergent tank had a hole in it when I got it and of course made a mess then too, I can™€™t get the extra water in the tub to get a good clean to my clothes and it keep pausing mid cycle. I was given this set of washer/dryer for my anniversary and it has been such a disappointment

Even after being on the phone with a GE representative I could not get this washer to connect to WiFi. The dryer connected with no problem. The rep said that the washers are finicky. It is very loud when it washes the clothes. Now it does wash clothes well and I love the automatic detergent dispensers.

I bought this 2.5 years ago. Bought specifically for the wifi connected features and the feature to dispense specific amounts of detergent from the internal reservoir. This feature is great and it re-orders detergent and fabric softener from Amazon whenever the reservoirs run low. One aspect of my life now automated. Unfortunately I've had several maintenance issues with the big motor assembly having bolts shake loose and cause issues. Very frustrating.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The automatic pre-fill and SmartDispense system of detergent, bleach and fabric softener is wonderful, I only have to refill every couple of weeks. It's very quiet and makes my clothes clean and they smell very fresh.

I looove the capacity of this thing! Its great! My favorite feature is the self-dispensing detergent, its almost like a windshield washer reservoir so I don't have to have the detergent bottle laying around anymore! The light and clear top are neat as well. The top loading washer doesn't get musty like the front loading. I really love it. The only complain I have is that it IS a bit noisy.

I've had it serviced, I've washed the basket many times and I've loaded it with only 5 items, and consistently this machine leaves dry spots on clothes. They say there's nothing wrong with it and it's because it washing in a "wave motion" which is gentle on the clothes. I advise you NOT to purchase this washer. Plus, along with the dryer, they scratch VERY easily.

I own two homes and have this washer and matching dryer in my Florida house. Can't even express how much I love love love the Smart Dispense washer! I was looking for the same washer/dryer for my Maryland house - and have sadly learned that GE no longer makes this Smart Dispense washer. A real shame. Very sad that we spent so much for a large appliance and it didn't even work when they installed it. We had to call for service and had to hand-rinse and wring out all the clothing we tried to wash. Very frustrating! When the repair guy came, 4 days later, it was an issue with factory electrical connections that were not done properly.. Isn't there an appliance inspection before these appliances go out the door to be sold?

We are so disappointed in this washer. It has given us problems since purchased in the Summer of 2016. It leaves lint on all dark clothes no matter the wash load size or water temperature. It has a huge drum but we can only wash small loads. We are currently considering replacing it.

we bought 2 whirlpool washers without agitator. They each lasted 3 years and froze up. we decided to switch to GE because of a good feedback. So far we are in love with it! Unlike other machines that use low water level this one uses enough water to cover the clothing. It handles bulky item famously. It took a while to figure out how to use the features properly. But worth the time once we figured it out. Not too crazy about the auto softener dispenser, but found the formula to bypass it. We are VERY happy with this washer.

Sleek and big Washing Machine

I bought the washer and dryer set in July 2016. I love the big wash basket and it took some getting used to but I like the agitation and waterfall action. However, I have had issues with the Smart Dispense on the detergent and had to have a repairman come out under the warranty. Even though he replaced the "trigger mechanism" for the SmartDispense I feel like there isn't enough if any detergent dispensed. the Indicator level on the controls for the dispenser hasn't moved since I started using the machine. It seems a bit better since the trigger was replaced but I still add a small amount manually to my wash loads. Other than that I really like the washing machine and all its other features!

I bought this washer because it was a top loader. I had the front loader and I didn't like it as well as this one. The features were impressive so I opted for this model. I used it and what a difference in time and the look of the clothes. It puts the right amount of detergent and fabric softener in and the time it takes is shorter. The size of the loads is important also, this washer will be able to do all of the things I need to wash with no problem.

How this unit could possibly be louder than the previous model is beyond me. It sounds like a ratchet spinning and thumps constantly. None of the preset selections get normally worn clothes clean regardless of how much or what brand detergent you use.

I just moved into my new home and was delighted to use my new washer & dryer. The first load I did was dark clothes and they came out with white streaks all over the clothes. I use Tide Pods so I don't understand. I did a quick wash and rinse and still had white streaks. Some clothes even had dry spots so wondering if it washes thoroughly. I don't see a control for the water level. Guessing it's self-adjusting...I feel there's not enough water to cover the load and clothes don't move around that much. Will call CS to ask questions. Maybe I'm missing something.

Since we purchased this GE washer in May 2016, we have had 6 visits or more of GE appliance technicians to come out and fix it. It wasn't dispensing the liquid detergent or softner correctly, the notification levels wasn't working, then the flow of water was not correct. After several boards and parts were replaced it finally has been working. Still concerned with a good clean though! At this time, I wouldn't recommend this washer until I have used it for at least a year to make sure all the changes are working. Spent a lot of money to get top of the line washer and the product not meeting those standards.

My husband was leaving for a year long temporary assignment out of the country and was worried that our old washer would go out on me since it was 20 years old. So he bought me this washer as a surprise and I am totally gratefully that he did! The washer senses the load then balances the load and when the clothes are done washing they are almost dry. The spin cycle in this washer is so sensational. You can set the spin cycle to the type of laundry. I love this machine!!

No Soft Close Lid

The machine is great so far but it does not have a soft-close hydraulic lid as described on the website, it is a standard spring lid. Just make sure you know that fact because the lid will slam if you let it drop. It's not a deal killer for me but its annoying to receive something less than expected.
