i have had my washer and dryer for a couple of years and the gas igniter went on the dryer and all i need to do is change it but i cannot find a book or any information to order a new one all i keep getting is a money grab for paying for books or service or replacing the machine when all i need is a $20 part

Aluminized Alloy Drum cracked!!!

The dryer is not even 4 years old and the ENTIRE drum is all cracked and broken which created a ridiculous amount of noise when it was drying. Due to COVID and not being able to have a service person come to the house, we continued to use it for two weeks until a sock got tangled in the cracked pieces and broke the belt and pulley. Soooooo...now we need to purchase a new dryer. Never again will I purchase a GE dryer. I'm so disappointed.

I've had this thing for 2 weeks and its not drying anymore. 2 whole weeks. Because I don't have enough stuff to worry about. I can't wait to see if GE stands behind their products. I don't have great expectations. I've already been blown off once by customer service. I'm so sick of buying appliances.

Very disappointed with "today's" dryers

We violated our credo of "not fixing anything that isn't broke" to purchase this dryer with a capacity equal to the matching washer, (which I love!) purchased a year ago. I had to dry loads from the new washer in two parts in a 30-year-old dryer that functioned perfectly. I mistakenly believed that the matching dryer would speed up the laundry process, drying the contents of the washer all at once, in 45 minutes max. It does not. Yes, the dryer accommodates the full washer load, but the drying time is 90 minutes or MORE. I feel like a lazy sloth spending $700 hard earned dollars to speed up drying time and avoid a second trip to the basement to load and unload a dryer that was functioning perfectly, despite its years. If I hear an appliance installer say "they don't make them like they used to" one more time, I'll lose it!!!!!! Our remorse will escalate significantly if it breaks down requiring costly repairs in say, 5 years, which installers tell me is "how they make them now".

Fast Drying times

The deliver was excellent. I did the install myself, took about 30 minutes max to 1st install the gas line and test for leaks and then install the vent and seal with metal tape. My old electric dryer was taking over 2 hrs to dry and finally died because I forgot to clean the vent each year. Not cleaning the exhaust vent will cause your dryer heating to cycle on and off more often and greatly reduce the life of your dryer. I picked a gas dryer because it drys faster and heats up faster. I really love this dryer. The picture does not do it justice. It is a beautiful dryer that works great. I actually enjoy doing wash now. Though I probably should not have told my wife that.
