Never again-Bearing issue after 4 years

We cleaned the tub regularly, emptied the filters, followed all of the instructions. Yet the wash would take forever, sometimes 3+ hours. Spin cycle started malfunctioning-had the GE appliance technician come out. After only 4 years of use, the bearing is busted. Would cost over $1000 because it™€™s not covered by the 10 year warranty. What a joke. Technician recommends getting a 5 year warranty when purchasing so things like this are covered. Maybe make a better product so people will have brand loyalty and trust.

Poor Product Poorly Made

This the 2nd GE Washer of I have purchased since 2012. This last one I purchased 2018 and it has been a headache. I replaced all of my applicances to GE (dishwasher, dryer, microwave and refrigerator based on perceived quality. This washer lasted exactly 3 years. Now the drum is busted. In addition to that when that happen, I had clothing stuck in the washer for 10 days before I could get in opened. I do not recommend GE products especially the washing machines. A washer should last more than 3 years.

Worst washer I have ever purchased.

We purchased this washer 3 years ago. From day one it has been a total pain, has stunk of swamp, makes crazy noises, clothes are barely washed, fend use he pods (can only use he liquid) etc etc. the soap drawer has actually molded. Several times. The dispenser for softer -no longer sprays water to add the softener - it™€™s so gunked up no matter what we have tried to clean it with including dlr and a toothbrush hasn™€™t worked. it™€™s to the point now my husband is having me buy a new washer dryer because he doesn™€™t even want to pay money to service it. I assume Gold Star where we bought it sold us new units. Because they were thousands of dollars and supposed to be new. So it™€™s either they screwed us or these units are just that bad. I™€™m hoping the new ones even tho we ordered GE again -but the ultra fresh version will be better. Just unfortunate that in 2021 science hasn™€™t cracked the code on front load washers. Here™€™s hoping these new ones are going to be better. Even tho I was leery on GE after this experience.

So this is my 2nd GE washer 1st one lasted about 6 years drum breaks and repair too costly. I buy again bc I want it to match dryer that still works. Now only 3 years same exact problem drum explodes mess all over and GE gives $1300 estimate. NO WARRANTY really?? These are expensive machines and should last or at least be fixed @ a reasonable price. What's the "10 limited warranty" sticker on it for then?? Show I guess. Also when you re-buy and they change model you have to buy a new pedestal another $350 bc old one won't fit. Now this model is discontinued so I would have to buy washer & dryer and 2 new pedestals if I want to match. Repairman super smarmy and did not care.

Broken after 2 years

We were happy for two years until the bearings broke and now it sounds like a freight train going through the house. Then the internal computer decided to rinse and spin the laundry over and over infinitely until we manually shut it off. Also some of the cycles decide to not work. Guess there on strike. Overall not happy for a machine that cost $1300

Bigger wash tub!

So far the machine is working great! The only thing I've noticed is the only way you can use the pods of detergent is to throw it in the tub with the laundry, they don't dissolve when using the drawer area for detergent, bleach, and softener, they gum up and I had to clean the drawer out.

Great color and Capacity

This washer failed the 1st load out of the box the bearings in the balance ring spun out had to wait weeks to get a new inner spin basket as GE was going through a warehouse inventory conversion and couldn't find the part in there inventory. Once part arrived it was replaced by a GE's service team and the washer has never sounded correctly when spinning have had them out to look at twice and said its the style of the machine. Fast forward a year from purchase 2/2018 as the machine has become vey loud when spinning and leaking rusty water out the bearing in the rear onto the floor. Calling GE to complain that we need the machine replaced or repaired that we are just 38 days out of warranty they could not help us as the machine came with only 1 year warranty. I understand that but 38 days and no we aren't going to help you out for a $1400 washer. The funny part here is I work for a national Appliance parts distributor of 18 years and cant believe they wont stand behind there product for such a short time out of warranty. And now they have stopped making this model if I wanted to purchase another washer to keep a matching set to match the dryer I would be out of luck.

We like the washer but it taking some time to get use to the high efficiency use water. We have to use the prewash feature to feel satisfied that the clothes has been thoroughly cleaned. I have to admit, our water consumption has gone down drastically. We hope this machine last as long as the one we replaced (18 years).

No Longer A Fan

I loved the GE kitchen appliances I have in the kitchen, so naturally I went for their WD when my other unit went out. I purchased this beautiful set back in November and still do not have a nice working set. I purchased from Lowes and first the washer had issues, they took it back. Then the dryer had tumbling noise, they reordered that. As of 1/29, they delivered both NEW W&D and it is even worse. The delivery guy checked the dryer before he left and it sounded like the drum was loose, so he placed ANOTHER replacement order. The washer makes a loud noise to lock the door and shakes during the sensing load cycle before it evens begins. Then as it starts the rinse cycle it shakes again. I am SO disappointed and frustrated at this entire event. I am now opting to go with another brand and another store. At this point, I cant determine if it's just the delivery team or if it's a product issue. Im done!
