The drum spindle broke twice in 7 years. 3.5 years for the life of a $1K product is ridiculous. Can't even fix it now because parts aren't available. GE won't be my replacement machine.

Beautiful house, terrible washing machine

Had this washing machine that came with a new house that I bought. Previous owners bought the machine, and its matching dryer when they moved in the house in 2019. Washing machine was making horrible noises during spin cycle, then stopped spinning clothes altogether. Paid $100.00 for a repairman to tell me that the parts needed to fix the washing machine are no longer manufactured or available. Not GE™€™s fault that I bought a house with a broken washing machine, but no replacement parts for a 4 year old unit is ridiculous.

5 year and done

Well this worked great until it didn™€™t. This will be the shortest amount of time ever for a new machine. I™€™ve owned multiple brand new machines. Just about 5 years and the rear bearing failed which would cost more than a new machine. I purchased a warranty but unfortunately I had my home being built and made the purchase before I even actually had them delivered and installed so my time passed for that. The repair too much Unless I tried to do it myself which just isn™€™t going to happen since the whole machine has to be taken apart :-( I feel like it should have lasted longer and I™€™ve seen many people with the same issue now.

Noisy, failing after 5 years

Bought this almost exactly 5 years ago. Rubber seal is failing and is now vibrating and smelling like burning rubber. I am currently looking at a replacement and not a GE product. These washer and dryers have made loud noises since we have had them. Although they cleaned clothes good, the clean out was a pain to use and it is also failing at the gasket. Replacing parts will cost more than a new washer. Im going back to the brand I had before these, another 2 letter brand.

Drum bearing failed and is not sold as an individual replacement part, only as part of an entire new drum assembly. So spend $800 + labour to replace whole drum even though it just needs a bearing, or get a new machine. The tepairman said get a new machine and go with Whirlpool or Maytag to avoid issues.

I expected much more from GE, the washer starting making noise during the first year when doing spill cycle. every year is became worse and after 4 years it could not finish spin cycle at the lowest speed. Repairmen came in, and said that 1 out of 4 shocks broke off but also the drum and also the boot seals, where it would cost more than a new machine. I have second laundry with LG washer that is running now 13 years without issues.

I bought a GE thinking that it was a solid company . I had a bosh washer before and lasted 11 years . I had this washer for a year and a half . And the barrel broke ??? It started leaking in the back come to find out the barrel had broken !! Of course it only had a 1 year warranty . So it wasn™€™t covered . Horrible . Will never buy GE again !!

Bought Washer/Dryer Set in late 2017 the washer gave me problems since day one, very loud, it would shake, it wouldn™€™t drain properly, I had to call technician multiple times. Today technician came and said it was pointless to fix because the parts are more expensive than what the washer is worth. Very low quality products I would definitely avoid buying anything GE.

Sounds like a helicopter on the spin cycle and vibrates the whole house. Put rubber pads under the feet and a pad under the washer and releveled the washer multiple times. Got a new motor and springs. Still have to straighten all the pictures on the wall and turn the TV up 15 levels when washer is on.

Load Rebalancing takes forever.....

Washing clothes takes time, and this washer takes a lot of time. More time than is estimated on the display. No matter the size of the load "load rebalancing" takes a long time and creates growling noise for half an hour. Take some of the clothes out, hopefully it goes into spin cycle sooner than later. Take half that load into the dryer and then spin down the clothes you took out to remedy the "load rebalancing" issue. It is extremely irritating. Might as well put it in storage and replace it with my smaller samsung I've got in the garage.

Was very happy with it at first. After 4 to 6 weeks, it was shaking and making a very loud noise. It even shook things off the top of it. Called where we bought it and they came out and tightened something or loosened something. It was quieter for about a week and then got very loud again. The end of cycle tone is very low. I can't hear it if in the next room and TV on. The light doesn't stay on to remind me that I have laundry in machine.
